Medium Velocity Impact Spatter (MVIS)

5-25 fps

This is considered a medium velocity event and is usually associated with blunt force trauma.  Notice the radiating effect as it gives insight to an area of convergence at the bottom of the poster board.  By selecting well formed stains and drawing or stringing lines back through the long axis (length) of the stains, one will discover the approximate area of convergence.

The appearance of the stain pattern above gives an indication of the area of convergence without added lines, strings or tape.

Same picture with computer added lines showing an approximate 2-dimensional area of convergence (AOC).
