Blood drop volume considerations?

Blood has adhesive qualities and as such will adhere to surfaces it may come into contact with; such as a weapon used in a violent crime.  The greater the surface area available allows for more blood to accumulate. The pictures below demonstrate different types of weapons, the surfaces they offer, and their resulting bloodstain drops. The approximate height of release was 12". Notice that there was a difference in the diameter of the bloodstain. Furthermore, there will be a difference in the cast-off patterns produced by these objects.

This drop produced a very interesting effect. The surface on
which it landed must have had a dirty film on it which
prevented it from making a complete sphere. This is another
reason why surface considerations are very important.
Chances are I probably touched this area with my finger
                                                                                            leaving a print.
