Bloodstain Microscopy

The following pictures have a magnification ranging from 10x -150x. The materials used were: Denim, Carpet (long thread), Kleenex Tissue and a Cotton T-Shirt. The microscope used was a Celestron ® Handheld Digital Microscope. The use of microscopes come in handy when trying to determine whether a particular stain is transfer or impact spatter.

The first three pictures (Viewed left - right) were from blood being flicked off the tip of my right index finger. The fourth is a swipe with the same finger and the fifth was simply a compression stain.
